List of NFL Coach of the Year Recipients | AP Coach of the Year Winners

The Associated Press (AP) awards the NFL Coach of the Year title each year to the coach who performed best that season. This award has been given since 1957. Starting in 2011, the winner has been announced at the NFL Honors event annually.

What NFL coaches have won multiple Coach of the Year Awards?

Don Shula has won this award the most times, with four wins during his 33 years as a head coach. He won three times with the Baltimore Colts and once with the Miami Dolphins.

Chuck Knox and Bill Belichick have each won the AP NFL Coach of the Year award three times.

Who Just Won NFL Coach of the Year?

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was voted AP NFL Coach of the Year for 2023. It’s his second time winning the award.

Stefanski, 41, took home the award on a tiebreaker. Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans also finished with 165 points, but Stefanski had 21 first-place votes to Ryans’ 20.
