The conference is governed by a Board of Directors and an Advisory Council, with Chris Grant serving as commissioner since April 2022.

Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, the SLC underwent a rebranding in 2023, introducing a new logo while retaining its original name. This refresh reflects the conference’s commitment to staying current while honoring its established identity in collegiate athletics.
