Conference USA (CUSA)

Conference USA (CUSA) is a Division I collegiate athletic league in the United States, with member schools primarily in the South and West. Founded in 1995, CUSA resulted from the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, neither of which sponsored football at the time.

CUSA began competition immediately in most sports, with football following in 1996. The conference added the University of Houston to balance its membership after the merger.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, CUSA has evolved since its inception, adapting to changes in the collegiate sports landscape. The conference provides a platform for its member institutions to compete across various NCAA Division I sports programs.
